Hi, my name is Kaylen Sather and welcome to my professional portfolio! I received my undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in 2015. After receiving my degree I immediately got a job as an elementary art teacher at two elementary schools in Thompson School District; Ivy Stockwell and Carrie Martin. After my temporary position ended I started a job as a part time art teacher and part time health teacher at Thompson Valley High School in Loveland, Colorado. After a summer of some thinking I took a step away for my mental health. Art and working with kids have always been passions of mine and I truly missed being able to help students find their passion in art. On this site you will find my experiences, accomplishments, skills, education, professional goals and objectives. But first, a little about me:
Here you will find my most updated resume with references attached: Kaylen Sather Resume 2019
I received my Art Education degree with a concentration in photography in May of 2015. After teaching for two years I needed to take a step back to make sure I was able to give students my all when given the chance. I was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado and truly love everything Colorado has to offer, but I have big dreams of seeing the world someday. I love being outdoors-hiking, biking, whatever it takes to get outside. I am also a big food addict, yoga, spin and pilates instructor, as well as music fanatic, and an owner of my own photography business. Art is clearly my first love though and that’s why I am pursing my art education degree. I really love to explore all mediums but photography and printmaking are my real fortes. I have had the opportunity to work with varying levels closely including two middle school art classrooms, one
high school art class, one elementary art class, and a group of special needs young adults.I have a strong belief that all students have inherent worth deserving of the best of our time, energy, and resources and I can’t wait to share that with your kids. I hope to help students grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially and encourage them to express themselves creatively. In my time away from the classroom I have only been reminded of my heart for students, the classroom, and art. I am anxious and eager to get back in the classroom and share my love for art with kids once again.
